Can The SkyBet Stats Package Put You Onto A Winner?

Around a month ago, we took a look at how using the comprehensive stats package available on Bet365 Sport could help you become a more accurate and profitable punter.Sky Bet Stats

However, it is not just one site that offers its customers the chance to peruse a wide range of statistics across a variety of sports.

SkyBet too has its own statistics package available for customers to use, so let’s take a closer look at what the SkyBet Stats pack offers customers and whether it too can be used productively by punters to help inform their bets. If you aren’t yet a customer, follow the link to learn more about how you can get £20 free Sky Bet instant sports bets.

Let’s now take a look at the SkyBet Stats packages available on the site and how they can be used by punters in a variety of ways to help inform their future bets.

Opta Stats

The majority of the statistics available on Sky Sports are found in the Opta Stats section of the site, although it isn’t the most easiest feature to find on the site. To locate the Opta Stats menu, scroll down the screen to the Extra’s section at the foot of the bar on the left. Then click on Tools and then when this opens, the bottom of the three sections listed in the Tools tab is the link to the Opta Stats.

Click on this to open up a new tab in your browser with the Stats pack loaded up for you to peruse.

The Stats pack is very simple to navigate. Down the left hand side of the screen is a list of sports for which Sky Sports hold statistics from. The default setting is for football but underneath this are listed a number of other spots listed which the site also carries statistics for:

  • Rugby Union
  • Rugby League
  • American Football
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Ice Hockey
  • Tennis

Clicking on each of the sports brings up a list of the different leagues/competitions that the Opta Stats Centre carries information on for each sport and you simply click on the relevant competition in the drop down menu for the sport of your choice to bring up the statistics pertaining to that.

The first thing to note is that this is not as extensive a list as the sports available in other statistics packages (such as Bet365 Sport for example), however what the Stat Center at SkyBet does offer is exceptional stats for the sports it contains data for.

This is particularly evident in the football section. Where there is information available for the Major Leagues in Europe (England, France, Germany, Italy, Scotland and Spain), as well as a detailed International section.

This International section does not just contain data on World Cup and European Championships, but also the Women’s World Cup, Copa America, Champions League, Europa League, African Cup of Nations, Asian Cup, Copa Libertadores and many other sporting events featuring both club and international teams.

Then if that is not enough to satisfy the demand for the football scholar seeking to make more informed bets, the A-Z section has a list of every country from around the world on which the Opta service holds statistical information on. The list is outlined below:

  • Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Servia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, USA and Wales.

Clicking on a league brings up a list of competitions that the site holds stats on and then clicking on the competition brings up the list of fixtures most relevant to it (usually the games next to be played in that event) and you can then navigate from here into individual clubs and individual statistics to find out the data you need to help formulate your bets.

This is the same process you use across all the sports on the Stat Centre service from SkyBet and the level of detail prescribed by the statistics is excellent.

You can use the labels across the top of the screen to bring up different facets for each sport, such as forthcoming fixtures, results, the current Standings, performance of referees, Top Scorers (in football), with similar headings used across other sports more related to their own needs and requirements.

For example, in the football section clicking on a club name, gives you a glimpse of their overall performance in the competition selected, their current 6 game form in total, home and away, as well as the ability to then review the statistics of each individual player within that clubs squad.

A list of results in that competition is then provided underneath this section and you can bring up detailed statistics on each of these games too.

In short for any of the sports that SkyBet offer in their Stats service, you will find plenty of statistics that will enable you to hone in on what are the better value bets for any team quickly and easily.

Horse racing form

For horse racing fans, the great news is that if you want to research your bets, then SkyBet customers have access to the stats available on the Sporting Life website, as the famous horse-racing company was bought out by Sky’s parent company a while ago.

What this means is that all of Sporting Life’s extensive horse racing betting services are also available to SkyBet customers simply by clicking on the Horse Racing Form button at the bottom of the page.

This opens up a new window in which you can see the Sporting Life site and on here you can search using a wide range of different methods to learn information about individual horses, jockeys, trainers and owners, as well as look up information about forthcoming races.

Of course, all the key information about every runner in a race is included, including their form, the jockey, draw, trainer and more.

There is a powerful search tool which allows you to search for specific terms to help you find out exactly what you need for any horse racing bet you wish to place.

Conclusion

To conclude, SkyBet’s service is certainly excellent and contains enough data on its core sports to keep any punter happy. It does lack the range of sports offered on some other statistics packages on other sites, but if you mainly bet on the sports available at SkyBet, then their two stats services offer the user a fantastic way to make better-informed bets.
