Skybet Bring Back A Brilliant Offer For New Customers In Time For Mayweather V McGregor

This weekend sees arguably one of the biggest and certainly the most intriguing fights in the history of boxing as the undefeated Floyd Mayweather puts his 49-0 record and his reputation on the line against the Irishman Conor McGregor, the controversial MMA star who has decided to test his skills in the boxing ring against one of the all-time greats.

This will certainly be one of the most bet on sports events of the year and will certainly attract millions of pounds worth of bets over the next week or so. So isn’t it fortunate that one of the most reputable sports books in the UK has just announced it has brought back one of its best value deals for new customers?

Mayweather Vs McGregor Betting Predictions Tips

Saturday night’s clash between Mayweather and McGregor has polarised boxing fans across the world. For some, this is the biggest and certainly the most hyped fight in the history of the sport, for others it is a complete mismatch pitting a multiple-weight undefeated world champion and rated by many as one of the best boxers ever, against a novice at the sport who has not had a single professional boxing bout in his career.

Whatever your view of the fight the one thing you cannot have missed in the lead up to the fight has been the hype. With Mayweather and McGregor going on a tour of four venues across North America and Europe to promote the fight in a series of explosive head to head showdowns. As a marketing exercise it has worked well with millions now desperate to see whether it is the mismatch that has been stated by many experts, or whether McGregor actually stands a chance of causing what would be the biggest upset in boxing since Buster Douglas defeated Mike Tyson back in February 1990.

How do we see this boxing clash going? Well let’s take a look at our tips below all taken from the Skybet site, so you could place your qualifying bet and free bet from the new player offer on most of them if you prefer.

Outright Winner

Skybet Prices: Mayweather 1/4, Draw 33/1, McGregor 3/1

McGregor’s price has shortened day by day as we head towards the fight as Mayweather’s odds have lengthened. At one point, one major Las Vegas bookmaker had Mayweather 1/25 to win but since then the odds on the pair have changed dramatically.

That said, I still don’t see how you can see past Mayweather as the eventual winner. The American has proven to be the best boxer of his generation and defeated many other top class opponents in a glittering career. His style may not be to everyone’s liking, but his effectiveness is undeniable.

McGregor certainly has heart and bravery, but given his likely rudimentary boxing skills, it is hard to see how the Irishman could cause Mayweather any real sustained problems. McGregor’s best chance it seems would be to try and catch Mayweather cold early in the fight, but many fighters better than McGregor have tried this before and none have succeeded.

That said, I feel the odds on Mayweather are so short that backing him for the outright winner isn’t a bet I’d personally be interested in, but one of SkyBet’s Price Boost offers really does catch my eye.

SkyBet Price Boost – Mayweather to win by TKO/KO in Rounds 1 to 4 – Now 6/1 from 4/1

Rather than bet on the outright winner alone, my money would be on Mayweather to come through an early storm by McGregor in the first round or two and to then put the Irishman away in either the third or fourth round. As such, the current SkyBet Price Boost offer outlined above, which has been increased from  4/1 to 6/1 really is a bet that I think offers great value.

A slightly more flexible option could be to take the Request-A-Bet option of backing Mayweather to win between Rounds 1 and 8, which is currently better than even money at 6/5 with SkyBet.

The reason I think Mayweather will want to win by KO or TKO is simple. He has stated that if McGregor goes the distance with him, he will view that as a defeat. To protect his legacy against an opponent with very limited boxing skills, Mayweather needs to win and win well, anything less and it wouldn’t look good on his record. As such, I think this is one fight Mayweather will not be seeking to use his skills to win clearly on points. He needs to go for a knockdown.

That knockdown is likely to come while McGregor is still fresh and throwing punches, and with Mayweather being one of the greatest counterpunchers ever seen in the history of boxing, I think he will catch McGregor this way and send the Irishman to the canvas relatively early in the fight.
