When is Euro 2024?
Euro 2024, or the European Championships as it is more formally known, starts in Germany this summer on Friday, June 14th.
Host nation Germany will kick off the tournament with the first game in Group A. They will face Steve Clarke’s improving Scotland side, led by Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson.
The evening will start with the official opening ceremony for the tournament before the two teams take to the field. Kick-off is slated to begin at 8 pm UK Time.
24 teams start the tournament in six groups of four. The top two teams from each group, plus the four best third-placed teams qualify for the knockout phase.
The final takes place on the 14th of July at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Mark 8 pm on Friday, June 14th in your calendar as that is the time and date for which entries into the bet365 Free Fantasy Euros game will close.

What is the bet365 Free Fantasy Euros Game?
bet365 Free Fantasy Euros is a fantasy sports game where you pick a squad of footballers, all of whom will compete at Euro 2024.
The aim of the game is for the players you pick to score points for your team. Out of the 15 players you pick, you must choose 11 to play for your team on any given Gameweek.
There are four positions on your team. Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder and Attacker. Your team can be any formation provided it has at least a goalkeeper, 3-5 defenders, 2-5 midfielders and 1-3 attackers.
Your substitutes must include one goalkeeper and any other three outfield players.
Free Fantasy Euros is divided into seven separate Gameweeks. These equate to the following:
- Gameweek 1 – The First Group Stage Game for all teams
- Gameweek 2 – The Second Group Stage Game for all teams
- Gameweek 3 – The final Group Stage Game for all teams
- Gameweek 4 – The Round of 16
- Gameweek 5 – The Quarter-finals
- Gameweek 6 – The Semi-finals
- Gameweek 7 – The Final
The more points your selected players score for your team in any Gameweek, the better it is for your team and the higher you will climb the leaderboard.
All the points scored by your players are added together to give your team a cumulative total for that Game Week. This total is added over the seven Gameweeks until the final leaderboard is decided after the Euro 2024 final.
- Transfers
At the end of Gameweeks one through six, customers can change their team using their allocated Free Transfers for that Gameweek.
- After Gameweeks 1,2 and 3 – each player receives two Free Transfers per Gameweek.
- After Gameweeks 4,5 and 6 – each player receives four Free Transfers per Gameweek.
You are free to transfer the stated number of players in and out of your squad on any game week. You can also make additional transfers if you so wish. However, each additional transfer over the Free Transfers that you make, will cost you -4 points from your total points score.
- Wildcard
In addition to the Free Transfers after each Game Week, customers will also have one Wildcard, which they can play at any point in the tournament.
The Wildcard allows you to make unlimited transfers to and from your team. It can be played after any Gameweek in the game.
Throughout the tournament, you can check the bet365 Free Fantasy Euros page to see how your team is performing. Both in terms of their score for the current Gameweek and overall position on the leaderboard.
At the end of the tournament, the fantasy game will be completed, and the top 15,000 teams in the competition will win a prize. This will range from cash sums of between £20,000 and £40 for the top 200 players and bet credits of between £20 and £1 for the other 14,800 players on the leaderboard.
The leaderboard will be updated after each Gameweek so you can see how your team is performing.

Once there, you can go through the main terms and conditions and rules of the game and then start picking your initial 15-player squad.
There are just a couple of things to remember when picking your initial squad and they are: –
- You have a maximum draft budget of £100m to pick your 15-player squad. You cannot exceed this limit, but can be under it.
- You can only select a maximum of three players from any one team in the tournament (at least initially).
The number of players you can select from any one team in the tournament increases as we progress through the knockout phase of the tournament.
- For Gameweeks 4 and 5 – You can have 4 players from the same team.
- For Gameweek 6 – You can have 6 players from the same team.
- For Gameweek 7 – You can have 8 players from the same team.
What Effect do the Captain and Vice-Captain have on my team?
Alongside your team, you must also select a Captain and Vice-Captain for your team for each Gameweek.
The captain of the team will score double points for your team. So if for example your captain scores 10 standard fantasy points in any game week for your team, as he is your captain that would be doubled to 20.
The vice-captain is only utilised if your captain does not start the game for his international team in that Gameweek. In which case, your vice-captain will score double points for your team.
