General Election Betting – 2024 Election Markets at bet365

Constituency Betting

In what may well be a first in the UK political betting markets, customers at bet365 Sport can now bet on every Constituency outcome. Bet365’s 2024 General Election Betting allows you to bet on which party will win all of the 650 seats available to be won.

Each constituency is grouped by its initial into one of eight groups as outlined below:

  • Constituency A-C
  • Constituency D-F
  • Constituency G-I
  • Constituency J-L
  • Constituency M-O
  • Constituency P-R
  • Constituency S-U
  • Constituency V-Z

Simply pick the constituency you are interested in, head to the set of markets it is located in and you can bet on the outcome.

Many constituencies are heavily in favour of one party or another. But there are a number which offer much better value odds as they should be closely contested.

Some of the most interesting constituencies to bet are shown below, with their incumbent member of parliament shown in brackets: –

  • Esher and Walton (Dominic Raab)
  • Fareham (Suella Braverman)
  • Hackney North and Stoke Newington (Diane Abbott)
  • Holborn & St Pancras (Keir Starmer)
  • Islington North (Jeremy Corbyn)
  • Kingston & Surbiton (Ed Davey)
  • North East Somerset (Jacob Rees-Mogg)
  • Portsmouth North (Penny Mordaunt)
  • Richmond (Rishi Sunak)
  • Rochdale (George Galloway)
  • Saffron Walden (Kemi Badenoch)
  • South West Norfolk (Liz Truss)
  • Witham (Priti Patel)

Turnout Percentage

The Turnout Percentage markets bet on the percentage of the UK’s voting population that casts their vote in the election.

There are two different options here. A bet on a selection of ranges for the turnout percentage and a 2-way Over/Under bet.

In terms of the Turnout Percentage range of betting options – Currently these are: –

  • Up to 55% – 11.00
  • 55% to 59.99% – 3.50
  • 60% to 64.99% – 2.20
  • 65% to 69.99% – 3.75
  • 70% to 74.99% – 17.00
  • Over 75% – 34.00

For context, 67.3% of the voting-eligible population cast their vote in the 2019 general election. 83.9% of the voting population voted in the 1950 General Election, and the lowest mark was 57.2% of the voting population in 1918. In more recent times, just 59.4% of the voting population cast their vote in the 2001 election.

Turnout Percentage (2-way)

The 2-way option does away with the individual ranges for the Turnout Percentage bet and instead offers a simpler Over/Under option.

Bet365 have set the mark at 64.5%, and their odds for each option currently are: –

  • Over 64.5% – 2.75.
  • Under 64.5% – 1.40.

This suggests the bookmaker expects a smaller turnout than at the last couple of General Elections.

Party Total Seats

This bet is a wager on the number of seats a party will win at the 2024 General Election. The options are based on a set range of seats won for each party.

There are nine options available for the Liberal Democrats, Conservatives and Labour, although the range on offer is varied based on how many MPs each party is projected to win.

There are also five options for the number of seats the Reform party may win.

Party Total Seats (2-way)

Punters can also bet on the number of seats a party will win at the election via a 2-way option. This is an Over/Under bet, with a number stated that punters can select a party will win a greater or fewer number of stated seats.

This market has two options available for Conservatives (Over/Under 140.5 and Over/Under 99.5), as well as an option for the number SNP MPs to be elected alongside those for Labour, Liberal Democrats and the Reform party.

Party Vote Share

This is a simple bet where punters can bet on the percentage of the share of the vote that the Labour and Conservative parties will receive.

Each party has different options: seven for the Conservative Party (from up to 20% to over 40%) and five for the Labour Party (from up to 38% to over 50%).

Most Seats

Perhaps the simplest and most popular of all 2024 General Election betting markets. This is a bet simply on which party will have the most seats at the end of the election.

Currently, Labour are the huge favourites as you can see by the odds outlined below:

  • Labour – 1.015
  • Conservatives – 21.00
  • Reform UK – 41.00
  • Liberal Democrats – 201.00
  • Green – 501.00

Overall Majority

The bet on the Overall Majority is one on a party winning enough seats to set up government without the need for a coalition.

A party needs 326 seats to achieve an Overall Majority.

There are three options available at bet365 at present, Labour Majority (1.05), Conservative Majority (41.00) and No Overall Majority (13.00).

Government After Next Election

This is a bet where you can select from a number of different options as to how the government will look after the election.

There are a total of 17 options available, ostensibly because there can be governments with a minority, a majority, or a coalition of two or more parties joining together to govern together.

A Labour Majority (1.05) remains the very strong favourite for this particular market however.

Prime Minister After Election

While there are a good number of options for this market, most punters will focus most likely on either Keir Starmer (1.015) or Rishi Sunak (21.00) to be the next Prime Minister after the election.

There are other options available should MPs not be elected, or if they resign following election night.

Next Permanent Party Leader

After a General Election, if a party has performed badly, then usually the leader of that party will resign. As such, it is worthwhile keeping an eye on the Next Permanent Party Leader market too.

Although not a specific 2024 General Election betting market, it is likely to be a very important market in the days and weeks following the election results. Depending on how they go for the parties and individuals involved.

2024 General Election Betting – Bet Boosts

Bet365 Sport is also offering a range of Bet Boosts options for the 2024 General Election.

As is customary with this bet365 feature, a select number of markets have been picked to have their odds boosted by the company.

This boost in value often makes the price available with bet365 one of the best prices available in the U.K. for that bet.

Currently, there are a trio of different Bet Boosts available on the 2023 General Election as follows:

  • Conservatives to win under 99.5 seats – boosted from 1.66 to 1.70
  • Rishi Sunak to be PM following the election – boosted from 21.00 to 23.00
  • A Labour – Liberal Democrat coalition to be formed after the next election – boosted from 17.00 to 19.00.

The odds and markets for the Bet Boost options were correct at the time of writing. However, these bets may be withdrawn or replaced, or the odds upgraded, or additional Bet Boost markets added over the coming weeks.

As such, it is always advisable to check in with bet365 Sport for the latest Bet Boost markets and odds.

With a massive choice of sporting events this summer, such as Euro 2024, The Paris Olympic Games, the Copa America, the US Open and British Open Golf, the British Grand Prix, Wimbledon, World Matchplay Darts, and much more, punters are not short of betting options.

But the huge range of 2024 General Election Betting markets at bet365 makes this a great betting opportunity.

Remember, you only have until the 4th of July to place your bets!
