This season will be one to watch

This has to be one of the most interesting Premiership seasons for many a year. Ferguson has left the helm at United. Will David Moyles be able to emulate the great man? Jose Mourinho has returned to Chelsea.

Can “The Special One” return Chelsea to their former glories? Man City also have a new manager in Manuel Pellegrini who has been spending big since his arrival. Can that spending improve them from last year’s runners-up spot?

Man Utd under Moyles have also a lot of new back-room staff, many coming over from Everton with Moyles. Will they take time to settle, and will the changes effect the long-serving players?

Moyles certainly has several issues to address with Wayne Rooney unsettled and possible wanting an outward tranfer, and Cesc Fabregas on their list of targets from Barcelona (but with offers repeatedly turned down by Barca).

Arsenal have also realised they must start spending to get into contention for silverware, and have made a £40 million bid for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.

Outside of all this, Christian Bale is the man of the moment, with £80 million interest from Real Madrid. If they can hold on to him in the face of such interest, then perhaps Spurs are a decent outside bet at 33/1.

When all transfer activity reaches a conclusion, who will be left with the best squad? and which manager will be able to gel that squad into a team of premiership winners?
